Tajik wonder tour: Tour 1

Places to visit: Dushanbe – Hissor – Iskanderkul Lake – Penjakent – Dushanbe 

Day 1: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
At the airport the driver will meet you and accompany to Dushanbe. Have a city tour and visit the Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state as well as House of parliament. Afterwards we will travel to National park, see Ministry of Inner Affairs and of course the biggest National Flag in the world of 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. See Central Museum (35 km) and visit Hisor fortress (VII–XVII centuries). It is the castle of Emir of Bukhara and located on a high hill and with 1 m thick walls and loopholes for guns. Moving to past times there was a pool and a garden, busy market square with a caravan serai and shops. Also, you will see monuments of “Madrasa I Kuhna” (16th-17tth centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” (16th century). Return to Dushanbe. Rest is in a hotel. 

Day 2: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake
Drive to Mountain lake – Iskanderkul, approximately 2 255 m. a. s. l. It is situated in Fann Mountains. Then we will drive via Anzob pass (3 372 m) and see panoramic views and enjoy sandy beaches. Everyone can see a waterfall, spending 40 minutes. Generally speaking Tajikistan is the second place amongst the CIS countries for volume of water resources which has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Overnight is in a guesthouse.

Day 3: Iskanderkul Lake – Penjakent
Today try your hiking skills at Fann Mountains or so called "Kuhistan". It is from Farsi means (Mountainous Country). Everyone will find than 30 pure lakes of different size. It is one of the best areas for hiking. Guests will have an opportunity for trekking and climbing destination. The fauna and flora of this place is special. In the afternoon we will drive to Penjakent. Night is in a local guesthouse.

Day 4: Penjakent – Dushanbe
Explore Penjakent city. It means "five villages" located in Khujand area of Tajikistan in a picturesque Zeravshan river valley. The five villages started the antiquity of this extraordinary city which invented in the 5th-8th centuries AD. In Penjikent you will see the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd called "Central Asian Pompeii". Find out the city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods where remains were found only in the last century. Currently travellers can see remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, fire worshiper’s church and many others. Back to Dushanbe. Overnight is in a hotel.

Day 5: Dushanbe – Airport
Morning transfer to airport.
